And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Dorothea China Blue by Seltmann Weiden, Germany teacup and saucer in classic blue and white design adorned with floral and leaf motifs.
This beautiful Dorothea China Blue Teacup and Saucer, plus dessert/salad plate set was purchased new in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a timeless classic blue and white design adorned with floral and leaf motifs. The pieces are lightly fluted with a border of leaves punctuated by rectangular blue medallions. The rims are trimmed with gold.
Matching Pieces
I have a matching teapot in this design which I will share in a future post. It is a beautiful teapot but is quite delicate and so I seldom use it. There are many other dinnerware pieces with this design but they are all hard to find outside of Europe.
Dorothea Red
This Dorothea design also comes in a red color and you can see it here. This red version is even harder to find and it was sheer providence that Ro-Ri San found it while surfing on the world wide web.

The tea light is a prop. The tray is also a separate piece on its own but they all work nicely together.

Beautiful china. I have a soft spot for blue and white china, but I’ve rarely seen it with a gold edge. Very nice. I’m excited to see what else you have for us on your brilliantly unique new blog!

Thank you Ruby! I have always had a soft spot for all things tea. So glad to hear you like the new blog.
I do have another set of blue and white teacups that are trimmed with gold. I will do a post on it someday. ๐

Like Ruby, I get weak at the knees for blue and white china, and this set is a gorgeous example! Congrats on your beautiful new blog ๐

Thanks Denise! I have always wanted to do this. It is like a more “sophisticated” form of a doll’s tea party. ๐
I like blue and white china too. I will share my other set someday. ๐
